ABOUT THIS ISSUE This publication provides an early indication of trends in building and engineering construction activity. The data are estimates based on a response rate of approximately 80% of the value of both building and engineering work done during the quarter. More comprehensive and updated results will be released in Engineering Construction Activity, Australia (cat.no.8762.0) on 1 October 2009 and in Building Activity, Australia (cat. no. 8752.0) on 14 October 2009. CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE There are no changes in this issue. DATA NOTES Commencing with the September 2009 issue of publication Building Activity, Australia, (cat. no 8752.0) the Time Series Electronic Tables 78 and 79 containing value of non-residential building work done and commenced, states and territories (old building classification) will no longer be available on the ABS web site. A concordance between the 1986 Functional Classification of Buildings (FCB) and the 1999 FCB is available in the classification manual - ABS Functional Classification of Buildings, 1999 (cat. no. 1268.0.55.001).
